I have just found this page after I started a new Topic in General Discusion - Order of Battles, cos I couldn't find anything like this. Here it is -
I am new to SOTR, and thoroughly enjoy the idea. However although it gives what would be OOBs for German Wehrmacht units, no mention is made in the rules of the SS units, of which there were approximately 38 recognised units. Usually only the most important are recognised such as the 1st - LAH etc, are seen, but these can include foreign elements, such as the 5th Panzer division Das Wiking, but they came from all areas taken by the German forces, so Italy, Croatia, Hungary, France, Latvia, Estonia, Holland and Flemish to name a few areas. Along with this were units like the Panzer Lehr, which was Wehrmacht, but had excellent supplies, so was usually as well equipped as the SS, if not better. I have looked on the Forum but cannot see anything about such units, although it does mention the Spanish and possible Spanish units.
As people have mentioned, I don't beleive the Waffen SS - the fighting arm of the SS, would have been disbanded or incorporated into other units. More likely it would incorporate other units into it, especially with the power Himmler showed under Hiler. Thus the SWD is more likely to have been made a part of the SS. Although I agree that the Vampires etc would have been used by the SS.
It is interesting though that the SS were 'Officially' part of the Arian Continuence, thus would vampires be allowed?
I know they used none-German peoples, but they were not used in either the 1st LAH or 2nd Totenkopf divisions.
It will be interesting to see how this discussion continues.

@Hobbit; It´s your game-you create whatever background/themes for your armies you see fit. For obvious reasons, Grindhouse/Westwind will probably never get too involved in the subject, but that doesn't have to stop you from creating cool units for your games!

You can do up some fan based lists for specific units if you want and post here, (just make sure labled as "Fan Based" and no illigal icons in it)

Also if your taling about blood, its all about brainwashing your troops/people into believing what you want them to believe, so with the SWD in command this could have been morphed into vamplires and blood in that aspect, the Germans were into all stuff astronomical and occult in the war

Also remember by making your panzer grenadiers elite or veteren then can be used as LAH or panzer Lehr etc so any Waffen SS or Wermacht unit

Also by 1944 the Waffen SS units varied in quality a lot, even the most experienced were getting poorer as they lost the veterans, and new recruits joined (who a lot were the bottom of the barrel). Also the 38 divissions of SS only a small minority were up to any kind of strength and were mainly divisions on paper only

I had some great uncles who were in Nordland and the surviving one  even deserted in 1945 to get away form the Russians to surrender to the Americans, he manages to get away before his unit 24th Regiment (Danmark) panzer Grenadiers got stuck in Berlin

Also its worth noting that a lot of the foreign divisions ie Wiking, etc were mainly German, only about 30% were Swedish, Finish, danish etc

Just bes careful when posing pocs and material as this is a global forum and we have to respect all and laws in all countries

thanks
